Was watching the Nats last night and everyone was shocked to see Angels closer Jordan Walden jump a good foot or two off the rubber and towards home plate before he releases the baseball. Couldn't find video/pictures from the side, but this is a still from an angle that is high enough to show his foot clearly off the rubber well before he releases the ball:

Ryan Theriot Is Not a Good Fastball Hitter
Carlos Zambrano knows what he's talking about.
Does The Riot have no idea what he handles well or was this just pure machismo/bluffing?:
